In 2024, Studio Saudade began The WayKeepers, a monthly online support group catered to individuals who have experienced a traumatic death of a loved one. It offers a space to connect, heal, and navigate the unique grief journey with professional and communal support.
Short-term and Long-term Social Purpose Objectives
Studio Saudade is committed to supporting individuals through grief, trauma, and mental health challenges by providing accessible, compassionate, and evidence-based coaching services. As a Social Purpose Corporation, we prioritize social impact over financial gain, ensuring our programs and initiatives serve the well-being of our clients and community.
Our short-term objectives include expanding access to grief and trauma support through both individual and group programs, increasing our online resources, and strengthening partnerships with local organizations.
Our long-term objectives focus on sustaining and growing our mental health coaching services, increasing outreach efforts to underserved populations, and continuing to develop comprehensive digital resources for grief and trauma support.
Material Actions Taken During the Fiscal Year 2024 to Achieve Social Purpose Goals
Expanded Individual & Group Programs: Increased the number of trauma-informed coaching sessions and launched new grief support groups.
The WayKeepers Support Group: Established a new ongoing monthly support group for individuals who have experienced traumatic death. This group, called The WayKeepers, is available on Zoom and open to participants from anywhere.
Ongoing Free Community Gathering: Continued the success of our monthly free community gathering for all grief. This group has provided a space of comfort, practical help, and resources for grieving individuals in the Seattle community.
Accessible Services: Offered sliding-scale payment options and pro bono coaching for individuals facing financial hardship.
Community Outreach & Education: Hosted free and low-cost workshops on grief, trauma resilience, and mental wellness in Seattle and online.
Developed Corporate Wellness Programs: Held trauma-informed workshops tailored for businesses and organizations.
Collaborations & Partnerships: Partnered with local mental health organizations, nonprofits, and community groups to extend our reach.
Expanded Online Resources: Enhanced our website to include a larger list of helplines and mental health websites. Additionally, we began construction on our Online Resource Hub, which covers multiple topics on physical and mental health. Stay tuned as we continue expanding these resources throughout the coming year.
Professional Development & Training: Attended and facilitated training sessions on trauma-informed care, ensuring the highest quality support.
DEI Commitment: Continued efforts to provide inclusive and culturally responsive coaching for diverse communities.
Sustainability Initiatives: Reduced our carbon footprint by offering more virtual sessions and implementing eco-friendly office practices.
