GENERAL ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS
We recommend participants have a minimum of 3-6mos distance between the death and participating in group support. (Typically, for more recent losses, working individually is best to start.) However, we recognize each individual’s grief experience, circumstances, and relationships are unique. Therefore, we determine final group participation on a case-by-case basis and will discuss any questions or concerns during the initial assessment.
60-MIN INITIAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
The main goal of the assessment is to ensure safety while receiving grief and trauma support. During the first half, the facilitator will cover any details you wish to share regarding the death, the current impact and challenges you are facing, and what you are looking for in support.
The second part covers all the program details, commitments, meeting structures, guidelines, and assessing your current ability/comfortability to stabilize during difficult or intense topics or imagery that might arise.
The assessment is not a guarantee of final acceptance in the program, but all concerns will be addressed during this very beneficial hour together. If it is determined this program is not a good fit with your current circumstances, this consultation will provide alternate possible options to 1) work in the future 2) provide resources to alternate specialists or programs to support you in the best way possible.
